Bucuti & Tara the First Hotel in World to Win Global United Nations 2020 Climate Neutral Now Award

UN signals world hospitality plays significant role in combatting climate

The Caribbean’s most eco-certified hotel is now setting the world standard as Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort in Aruba is the first-ever hotel in the world to win the prestigious Global United Nations 2020 Climate Action Award for Climate Neutral Now.

For the first time in the award’s history, a hotel is a winner. Past recipients include global giants and household names such as Apple and Infosys and projects backed by major banks. With Bucuti & Tara as the first hotel, the UN is signaling to the world the significantly positive affect every member of the hospitality sector – more than 10% of the world’s GDP – can and must have to combat climate change.  More

About Our Partner - Coastal Connections

Coastal Connection’s beach basket program was successfully piloted on Indian River County public beaches. CCinc's role is to involve community volunteers/groups to monitor these baskets, clean the baskets, and prepare regular reports to the County about the successes of having this free resource at public beaches. Currently, CCinc does not have the resources to expand this to other counties or cities, but welcomes the opportunity to work with SENFC members to create a Champion Expansion Plan to broaden our reach by adding this resource to other beaches in Florida and the Caribbean.  Learn more about Coastal Connections’ Beach Basket program, Sea Turtle Friendly Certifications, WRAP Recycling management and support a driven, motivated and passionate organization that is working diligently to protect our coastal habitats.  Visit Coastal-Connections.org and contact us to get involved.

December 1 is Giving Tuesday

Be Generous!

GivingTuesday was created as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past seven years, it has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.
